A Playground Designed to Help Autistic Kids

A new sensory playground has opened at the Peninsula Town Center in Hampton. The playground is specially designed to help kids with sensory needs.

Peninsula Town Center is dedicating the playground to the Peninsula School for Autism. The school’s board and leadership have endorsed and supported the design and development of the playground and will utilize it on a regular basis.

Along with sensory play, the playground will also feature interactive mobile experiences. Guests will be able to download the special app to listen to the stories in up to 16 languages, as well as, create and save photos with their children and characters from the stories.
