Members of the Chesapeake Police Department and the Chesapeake Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #9, joined forces with WalMart to continue an effort to build positive relationships in their community. Twenty-five kids from all over the community were participated in Chesapeake Police’s annual “Cops & Kids” program.
Each child was paired up with a police officer, or a sheriff’s deputy, and given a gift card to use at the WalMart on North Battlefield Boulevard. Many of the children bought needed items for their family, a gifts for others, as well as something special for them
After the event the police, the kids and their families went to Chilled Ponds for skating a pizza party with Santa.
