ABCD Hosting Workshop Training Neighborhood Community Leaders

Do you see things in your neighborhood that you would like to see changed, but don’t know who is a neighborhood leader that can help you?

Asset Based Community Development Training in Newport News emphatically says that you can be that neighborhood leader.

A free workshop will be held Saturday, July 25 at South Morrison Family Education Center, 746 Adams Drive, Newport News from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. This workshop will helps citizens to develop the neighborhood leadership skills needed to promote change.

ABCD promotes a powerful and inclusive approach to community development. During the workshop, potential leaders can focus their efforts on discovering and mobilizing the resources that are already present in the community.

“When people become more productive together – they exercise their power to address problems and realize dreams,” according to a press release from ABCD. Workshop will attempt to teach attendees to tap potential in their neighborhood, discover how to build more community engagement and involvement and will challenge individuals to be great neighbors.

Adults, youth, residents, professionals, and community workers are all invited to attend to learn about the ABCD model and how to become involved in the ongoing work.
