ABNB Fishing Fest Raises Over $65K for CHKD

ABNB Federal Credit Union reeled in a lot more than fish at its 14th Annual Fishing Fest this year!

The credit union held its annual fundraiser on Friday, June 23 and raised over $65,000 to benefit the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters (CHKD).

Over 100 participants attended this year’s event at Rudee Inlet to fish on the Chesapeake Bay, feast on delicacies from Mobile Pig-Nic and jam with radio hosts from local stations like Slightly from Z104, Dale Murray from 95-7 R&B and Devin from 101.3 2WD.

This year, radio and ABNB teams raised funds by broadcasting live from the event’s chartered boats in their first ever Facebook Live-athon.

Since hosting its first Fishing Fest 14 years ago, ABNB has raised over $700,000 for CHKD.

“It was all made possible by our vendor sponsors, members, friends, and the wonderful staff of ABNB,” said Chris Anuswith, Vice President of Risk Management and 2017 Fishing Fest Chairman. “My personal highlight was spending the day with our CHKD Champion Child, Julian, and helping him catch 33 fish on his first fishing trip ever.”
