“And I Still Rise”

Nauticus will be hosting a special day of programming featuring African-American leaders in the history, military and science fields in celebration of Black History Month titled “And Still I Rise.”

Come out and meet two Tuskegee Airmen, NASA “Hidden” (and Modern) Figures and local historians during this special event on Feb. 10 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The day starts with a presentation “Waterways to Freedom” by historian and author Dr. Cassandra Newby-Alexander followed by a book signing.

There will also be a Curious Kids Panel where the children can meet the Tuskegee Airmen, members of the Navy, NASA hidden figures and NASA modern figures.

The adults will get a chance to attend their own version of the panel as well.

End the day with a presentation “Afro-Norfolk County Area Civil War Patriot Heroes” and book signing by Dr. E. Curtis Alexander.

Admission for the event is only $7.57 for adults and children ages 4 to 12 years old. If you’re bringing a child under the age of three, they get in for free.
