There’s nothing like a good summer music festival. If you’ve ever enjoyed the type of widespread enjoyment of Lollapalooza in Chicago, Bonnaroo in Tennessee, or Hangout Festival down on the Gulf then you know that live music outside in good weather is an incredibly enjoyable experience.
Lava Music Festival is our festival here in Hampton Roads. Last year it was a major hit at the Suffolk Executive Airport and this year it’s been moved to Norfolk at O’Connor Brewing Co.
I spoke with Josh Coplon, one of the founders of Lava Festival. He told me about the excitement of the new location, what we can look forward to, and how there’s a little something for everyone at this year’s Lava Festival.
Tickets are reasonably priced, as well. They’re $25 in advance, $30 at the door and that gets you nine amazing and varied acts. You’re guaranteed a day of fun and dancing.
It’s happening this Saturday, May 28th. Gates open at 1 p.m. and feel free to bring yours kids! This is an all-ages event and kids 12 and under are free. For the complete lineup and more information, including tickets, visit lavafestival.com.
