Coast Guard ship returns to Portsmouth after 2-month patrol

The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Forward is back home after a two-month patrol in the western and central Caribbean Sea.

The ship came in Sunday morning to Coast Guard Base Portsmouth. During their patrol, the Forward’s crew seized more than 124 kilograms of cocaine and more than 3,000 pounds of marijuana.

The drug busts were part of counter narcotics efforts organized by the Joint Interagency Task Force South. Forward also acted as the lead during joint search efforts for a capsized Nicaraguan tour boat in February.
