Today the Cordish Company announced two businesses coming to the Waterside District, and they’re both yummy local favorites!
Cogan’s Pizza and Carolina Cupcakery will make their debut next spring when the Waterside District opens up on the Norfolk waterfront.
Cogan’s is already well-known at its two Norfolk locations for great beer selection and delicious pizzas, and their new location will feature two signature wood-burning pizza ovens in full view of their guests.
“When we decided to open our third location, we knew it had to be at Waterside District,” said Richard Katz, Co-Founder of Cogan’s Pizza. “Dave and I grew up here and to have Cogan’s Pizza be a part of the revitalization of the historic Waterside building is very special for us. We appreciate that The Cordish Companies worked hard to make this possible and we are going to deliver an incredible experience for the people of Norfolk.”
On the sweet side, the well-known bakery Carolina Cupcakery features over 250 different flavors of cupcakes made from all-natural ingredients.
“Our passion for creating the best experience for our customers mirrored the approach of The Cordish Companies exactly,” said Dawn Eskins, Founder of Carolina Cupcakery. “We’re thrilled to open at Waterside District next spring.”
The City of Norfolk says that the Waterside District will feature a variety of unique food and beverage concepts as well as be a home for entertainment, festivals and family attractions. More announcements about the development are expected in coming months.
