Downtown Suffolk is beginning to look a lot like Christmas. More than 60 talented art students from Suffolk Public Schools took part in “Painting the Town.”
The program allows elementary through high school students to paint windows at several businesses downtown with holiday themes. 2016’s theme is “Holidays in Toyland.”
The bulk of the art is on storefronts along North Main and East Washington Streets, and will be up until after the new year.
City and school officials involved hope to make the season bright for employees and shoppers, just in time for the Suffolk holiday parade on Saturday.
