Hampton Roads Easter Eggstravaganzas 2016

Whether they’re filled with toys or filled with candy, it’s a right of passage and a real good time to load up the kids and let them loose with a basket and hunt for those hidden eggs.

There are many inexpensive and free Easter Egg Hunts in Hampton Roads this weekend and here’s a list for you.

Grab your baskets and get hopping to these eggstravaganzas!

10 a.m.-1 p.m./Chesapeake City Park Eggstravaganza/Cheasapeake City Park
Children can join us for fun and egg-citement! Children should bring a basket or bag for the egg hunt. Children may join Peter Cottontail for a picture. Parents, don’t forget your camera!

10 a.m.-12 p.m./PTC’s Hoppin’ Easter Event/Peninsula Town Center
Join PTC at their FREE Hoppin’ Easter Egg Hunt in Marys Park Playground! Family friendly entertainment will include: face painting, strolling magician, a balloon artist, hop scotch and hula hoop contests, DJ and opportunities to take a picture with the Easter Bunny himself. An Easter Egg Hunt with over 2,500 candy filled eggs will be available to children (2-8). Children must be registered in order to partake in the event festivities. Space is limited. 10 a.m.-3 p.m./Easter Eggstravaganza/Sandy Bottom Nature Park
The Easter Eggstravaganza will be fun for the entire family. Events include 10 Easter egg hunts for each age group and they will begin every hour half with the first hunt starting at 10am and last hunt at 2:30pm. The age groups are 3-6 years of age and 7-12 years of age. There will be 250 tickets for each age group so come early to get your tickets for the age group you need. There will also be a children’s craft area, prizes for the most eggs found and who finds the special egg, raffle, food sales, photos with the Easter bunny and other goodies. Photos with the Easter bunny are $8 each. Each child who is in a hunt will receive a goodie bag. The children will be “egg-static” about this event. This event is sponsored by the The Friends of Sandy Bottom.
There is no registration but tickets go fast so get here early.

10 a.m./Great Easter Egg Hunt/Lee Hall Mansion
Bring the kids to Lee Hall for our ninth annual Easter Egg Hunt. The Easter Bunny will be on hand for games and photo ops. Experience the Antebellum South on the grounds of Richard D. Lee’s mid-nineteenth century plantation home. A great family event!
This special event is for children up to age 12 and admission is $5.00 per child.

Bring your Easter basket and camera! This year the event takes place on the baseball fields; for easy access, use the entrance off Longhill Road. Hunts are divided by age, starting times are: 2 yrs & under-10am; 3 yrs-10:10am; 4 yrs-10:20am; 5 yrs-10:30am; 6 yrs-10:40am; 7 yrs-10:50am. An afternoon Easter Egg Hunt for ages 7 & under takes place at the Abram Frink Jr. Community Center, 8901 Pocahontas Trl, 1-2pm. Cosponsored by Williamsburg Parks and Recreation.
