Internationally-acclaimed Artist Branches Out in Norfolk

Artist Patrick Dougherty’s concept to use sticks as art has definitely stuck. And he’s bringing his internationally-acclaimed work to Hampton Roads.

The Hermitage Museum & Gardens in Norfolk is holding a special event for guests to experience Dougherty’s newest installation and get to meet the artist himself.

To date, Dougherty has built more than 250 amazing sculptures made of saplings.

The Stickwork Opening Party is Friday, October 21 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. There will be a southern inspired menu, a full outdoor bar and entertainment by Little County.

There are limited tickets available. Purchase tickets here.

The structure will be located in the grotto area of the Hermitage and will be free to view during normal museum visiting hours. It goes on display to the public Saturday, October 22.
