MacArthur Center Brings Back Battle of the Pop-Up Contest


The first Battle of the Pop-Up at MacArthur Center was so successful, the center is ready for round two.

MacArthur Center has announced they will have another Battle of the Pop-Up contest from June 13 to Friday, July 20.

Entrepreneurs are asked to send in innovative retail ideas for a chance to win an entire brick-and-mortar store at the mall for six months – rent free! The prize package is valued up to $25,000 and includes signage, visual merchandising and fixtures.

Participants who would like to enter the contest need to obtain a business license by Nov. 1, and will need to operate their store during mall hours from November 1, 2018 through April 20, 2019. Entries will be judged on business strategy, concept creativity and likelihood of profitability among other criteria.

The deadline for entries is July 20. There is no cost to enter. You can read the full list of rules here.

Karen Husselbee, MacArthur Center’s marketing director said via press release, “With the tremendous success of this spring’s Battle of the Pop-Up and the exposure the winner has received, we realized it was time to expand and further develop this wonderful program.”

The winner of the spring pop-up contest was For All Handkind, which opened their store the first week of June.

Winners will be contacted by phone or email on August 10.
