This adorable little guy has found a new home in Virginia Beach and the Virginia Aquarium needs your help naming him!
He’s a juvenile harbor seal and he was found stranded in Deal, New Jersey on Valentine’s Day. Because of the injuries on his back and neck, it looks like he was a victim of a shark attack or maybe a boat strike. Because of those injuries and partial paralysis in his hind flippers, he could not be released back into the wild. The Marine Mammal Stranding Center in Brigantine, New Jersey rehabilitated the seal and the Virginia Aquarium staff transported him to the Virginia Aquarium earlier this month.
The Aquarium will host a “Welcome Home Party” for the new seal, as soon as he is comfortable with his “brothers,” resident harbor seals Peter, Piper, Hector, and Norton.
