NSO Deputy Celebrates 40 Years of Service

A deputy with the Norfolk Sheriff’s Office is being honored for his dedicated service. Master Deputy Calvin Armstrong has served the Norfolk citizens for 40 consecutive years.

Master Deputy Armstrong is currently the longest serving employee at the sheriff’s office. Hired on December 7, 1976, he has worked under three sheriffs and has lived through many changes in law enforcement.

“It’s not often these days that employers can retain employees for decades,” Norfolk Sheriff Bob McCabe said. “I’m truly honored to have Master Deputy Armstrong serving the organization and the community at large.”

Master Deputy Armstrong is also the uncle of Chesapeake-native and College Football Hall-of-Famer Kenny Easley.
