Norfolk residents can get a fresh taste of oysters next spring.
The Cordish Companies announced Monday that the Rappahannock Oyster Co. will be joining the list of restaurants at the new Waterside District.
Rappahannock Oyster hails from Topping, Virginia, and has other locations in Richmond and Washington, D.C. Cordish says its recognized for its family history, cuisine and sustainable oyster farming practices.
The restaurant will debut when the new Waterside opens in April 2017. It will be located in The Market, a 30,000 square foot, two-level anchor concept located in the heart of Waterside.
