Norfolk cruise terminal honors Peter G. Decker, Jr.

The Half Moone Cruise & Celebration Center in Norfolk is now named after a man who did a lot for the city, local philanthropist Peter G. Decker Jr.

Norfolk City Council and Mayor Paul Fraim honored Peter Decker Jr. in a ceremony Tuesday afternoon.

Decker was known around the community as “Uncle Pete.” He was the head of the Decker Law Firm and he made contributions to charities all over Hampton Roads.

Decker passed away in February of 2012.
