Saturday evening kicked off the holiday season in Norfolk. The 31st annual Grand illumination parade marched through downtown. Downtown’s skyline lit up around 7 o’clock as the sun went down and the parade followed right behind.
High school marching bands, floats and floating entertainment captivated the packed streets of Norfolk. Some families said the lighting and parade are more of a ritual for them.
The parade begins 6 weeks of celebration in Portsmouth and Norfolk.
