If you’re looking for a community full of citizen engagement, then Norfolk’s your best bet. The City of Norfolk was just named as one of five Citizen-engaged communities in the US for 2017-2019 by the Public Technology Institute (PTI).
They received this recognition because of the Norfolk Cares Center, which provides a single point of contact for visitors, residents and businesses to request a city service, report a concern, seek information about Norfolk or follow-up on a previous request.
This is the third consecutive time Norfolk has been named a citizen-engaged community, receiving the designation more than any other call center in Virginia.
Norfolk Cares Center staff will represent the city and present best-practices in citizen-engagement at the regional and national level.
Norfolk Cares representatives are available Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. but receive requests through voicemail, email and online 24 hours a day.
