The Latest Running News, Notes, and “Shout Outs” from Running Reporter, Jon “Flex” Leiding
With the Olympics just a few days away, I’m ready to kick to the streets in my red, white and blue gear. I can’t wait to root for the USA team in the Track and Field events. Hope it’s a good competition.
So, I’ve avoided it long enough, but it’s been extremely hot and the heat index well over 100 for many days. PLEASE! Stay hydrated, even more often than usual on your runs. Also get a longer run in either earlier in the day or later in the evening, or inside; just be safe.
Time to get to our video report for the weekend with results and what not. No need to wait…Let’s Go…On The Run!
I enjoyed spending time with my friends at the Memorial Scholarship 5K. I didn’t win any of the cool prizes, but saw people I hadn’t seen in a long time. We runners are a big family. Very sad to hear about local race walker, Hartley Dewey, passing this past week. He was a kind person who always had a nice word when you spoke with him. Condolences to his family and friends.
Keep doing what you do out there and we’ll keep being your cheerleaders. Be on the lookout for new reports and interviews next time right here.
See you soon!
