Virginia Beach School Wins Statewide Art Contest

A Virginia Beach elementary school’s artwork was a winner in a state giving campaign.

Red Mill Elementary School won first place among all Virginia Primary Schools in the Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC) art contest.

Gov. Terry McAuliffe congratulated the contest winners in person Tuesday.

Since 1997, state employees have donated $46.8 million to more than 1,000 participating charities during this annual campaign. Gov. McAuliffe announced that this year’s goal is $4.3 million.

“The annual Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign is an excellent program that provides directly to hundreds of charities in Virginia and across the country. Virginia is fortunate to have employees who respond so generously to the CVC campaign and are willing to support charitable organizations,” said Gov. McAuliffe at Tuesday’s campaign kickoff.
