Elizabeth City Teacher Awarded $2,500 Educational Grant

An Elizabeth City teacher has been awarded a $2,500 educational grant from Farmers Insurance.

Central Elementary teacher Jennifer Kresicki wants to create a state-of-the-art classroom for her students. She plans to use the money to buy new flexible seating options, hands-on sensory spaces and STEM stations to engage her students.

“Teachers across the country are so passionate about what they do, and they are committed to improving their schools in any way they can,” said Tu-Han Phan, managing lead of Thank America’s Teachers for Farmers Insurance. “We are so excited to provide Kresicki with a $2,500 grant to help improve the school’s STEM program through Thank America’s Teachers.”

Kresicki was one of 60 teachers nationwide who were awarded the grant.
