Mike Lawson was born with music in his blood. Both his parents were music teachers, so it was pretty much the law of the house to play an instrument. Mike played the french horn before picking up the six string at age 23 and we’re glad he did.
Mike first made his mark on the Hampton Roads music scene with “The Vir”, a three-piece acoustic folk band, before heading out on his own to record his debut album.
Lie Here With Me is a collection of personal stories that Mike has crafted throughout the years. In this edition of Talkin’ Tunes, Mike describes the making of the album, his influences and what lies down the road.
