The Last Bison have been one of the most successful bands to come out of Hampton Roads. For the past 5 years, the Chesapeake band have been crafting their folkchestral sound – a mix of folk and orchestral music and amazing live performances to the delight of their audiences. The group has toured the country over several times over and amassed a loyal fanbase since the opening notes of their first single, Switzerland, made its debut on the radio. Their annual homecoming show at The NorVa not only sells out every year but is a great philanthropic event for the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia.
The band has evolved their sound the last year by adding a little bit of electricity to the mix and I recently sat down with Ben Hardesty and Amos Housworth to talk about their new sound and their new lineup. The guys also treated us to an acoustic version of the brand new song – so new that it doesn’t have a title yet.
