9 a.m. | Martin Luther King Jr.: Day of Service | Northampton Community Center
For years the MLK Informational and Educational Day of Service has given back to senior citizens in the community by offering them breakfast, lunch, presentations and giveaways. Registration is required and lunch will be served. Admission is a gift of warmth for school-age children (new hats, gloves, scarves, socks or gently used coats).


6:30 p.m. | Lead Like King Gala | First Presbyterian Church of Norfolk
A semi-formal commemoration of the life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. that will include delicious “Soul Food” dinner and exhilarating” Soul Music”.



10:30 a.m. | Children’s Garden Club | White’s Nursery and Garden Center
Read a book, sing a song, color, or make a craft! All children are welcome, but we focus on 3-6 year olds.

11 a.m. | Natural Winter Wellness with Essential Oils | Le Bebe Chic Boutique
They’ll be discussing how you can implement 100 percent natural oils into your family’s healthy routines.

Following the ceremony, participants will walk to the MLK Jr. Memorial at Brambleton and Church St. for a wreath-laying ceremony.
