1942 Symposium

1942 was an eventful year for the United States military. To mark some of the interesting and important events that happened that year, the MacArthur Memorial and the Hampton Roads Naval Museum will co-host a “1942” symposium on Saturday, October 21, 2017. Historian VIncent O’Hara will present on Operation Torch, Marine Archaeologist Tane Casserly will present on the Battle of the Atlantic, and Pete Bulkeley, son of the skipper of PT-41, will discuss MacArthur’s escape from the Philippines.

This symposium will be held between 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the Hampton Roads Naval Museum in the Nauticus Theater. The symposium is FREE. Registration is requested!
