April 22 @ 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Suffolk Parks & Recreation is proud to present the 2nd Annual Peanut City Showdown on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at 2 p.m. at the King’s Fork High School Gymnasium, located at 351 Kings Fork Road. Doors open at 1 p.m.
The event will showcase some of best high school dance, flag and drum lines from Virginia, North Carolina, and Washington D.C. The dance and drum line from Suffolk’s own King’s Fork High School will be competing. The “show stopping” drum majors from Nansemond River High School will bring the crowd to their feet with a special exhibition performance. Dance and flag lines will deliver exciting theme-based floor routines showing off skill, creativity and showmanship. Always a crowd-pleaser are the drum lines as they move the crowd by showing off their different styles and technique.
To cap off the Peanut City Showdown, there will be a stand dance battle between participating dance lines in the same format as the popular show “Bring It”. Admission is $10 at the door on the day of the event with proceeds helping to benefit the Suffolk Youth Achievement Awards for high school students. This event is a MUST SEE and will entertain ALL ages!
