Planes, Trains, and Santa, 2017:
(9:00am – 5:00pm Friday and Saturday; 9:00am – 3:00pm Sunday)
The Military Aviation Museum, in association with the Tidewater Division of the National Model Railroad Association (NMRA), is pleased to announce its 9th-annual model train show!
Among the layouts on display, installations will be provided by the following clubs and organizations:
• Tidewater O Gauge Association
• South Hampton Roads N-Trak Club
• Tidewater S Gauge Association
• Tidewater Modular Railroad Club
• Tidewater Live Steamers
• Hampton Roads Lego Users Group (HARDLUG)
Santa Claus will fly in on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with a meet-and-greet for children of all ages at 11:00am all three days!
The weekend promises more thrills as well, to include an up-close look at the Museum’s exciting collection of operational World War One and World War Two vintage aircraft, a special appearance by fire engines from Independent Fire Company.
The Greater Atlantic Rescue Dogs have been invited to greet the guests. The Girl Scouts will also be in attendance, among other organizations.
The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve will be accepting donations for their annual Toys for Tots drive throughout the weekend. Help spread a little cheer this holiday season to youngsters in need by purchasing an original-packaged toy for donation from the Museum’s gift shop or by providing a cash donation to the Marines present. Children purchasing a new gift for Toys For Tots will receive a free ticket for a motorcycle sidecar ride outside that same day.
Tickets for the Museum’s annual Valentine’s Day Hangar Dance, taking place on Saturday, Feb. 10, will be available for purchase during the weekend’s festivities for guests looking to give them as gifts during the holidays.
Weekend food and beverage services will be provided by an area Food Truck.
With the exception that all children 17 and under get in for free, general MAM admission pricing applies.
