Your Crafty, Anime, Grilled Cheese Hampton Roads Weekend

Halloween is over and the holidays are just around the corner. This weekend offers a wide range of activities, like crafts, comedy, live music – even one of Hampton Roads’ longest running anime conventions. So put on your best cosplay and get out there and enjoy the fall!

Don’t forget to set your clocks back Saturday night! Daylight Savings ends at 2am on Sunday morning.

This annual holiday tradition features over 100 different craft vendors each weekend. Crafters will be selling unique handmade items, everything from stocking stuffers to fine works of art, all at budget-friendly prices.

7pm – 9pm | An Evening with Wayne White | Virginia Museum of Contemporary Arts
Join us for a very special and incredibly entertaining artist talk with Wayne White where he discusses his life and work, his influences and his many experiences as a painter, illustrator, puppeteer, cartoonist, designer, art director, set designer and Southerner. Throughout the evening, Wayne will be narrating a flow of visually stunning images, while mixing in a little banjo and harmonica.

Laugh out loud and help the homeless! Henry Cho is bringing his family friendly comedy show back to Hampton Roads by popular demand. The proceeds from the night will go to help the homeless of Hampton Roads through PiN Ministry.

12pm – 6pm | Beer, Dogs, and Veterans Event | Wasserhund Brewing Company
The Nov. 5 “Beer, Dogs & Veterans” event will feature music provided by a local DJ, food trucks,  veteran related groups, rescue groups, and a variety of vendors. Local craft breweries Wasserhund, Bold Mariner, Oozlefinch, and Home Republic will be participating. There will be a variety of raffle items available as well as a silent auction. T-shirts, commemorative pint glasses, and other items will also be available.
Free admission. This is a dog-friendly event.

4pm | Higher Ground: Hurricane Matthew Charity Concert | 505 South Independence Blvd.
A benefit concert to help residents of the Windsor Woods & Waypoint Apartments affected by Hurricane Matthew.

5pm | Tidewater Festival of Marching Bands | Indian River High School Stadium
Indian River High School Band Boosters proudly announce The 38th Annual Tidewater Festival of Marching Bands! Currently, we have bands registered from throughout Hampton Roads, Richmond, Waynesboro, VA, and Rocky Mount, NC. Come out and enjoy this Hampton Roads Tradition!
Admission at the gate $10 for Adults, $8 for College and High School Students, $5 for under age of 14, and $5 for Seniors over the age of 60.
