A local brewery who has made it their mission to give back, is now asking for help after some shocking news. Virginia Beach’s Wasserhund Brewing Company Brew Master/Part Owner Aaron Holley suffered a very unexpected stroke.
Aaron’s wife and Part Brewery Owner Christine, who is expected the couple’s second child, says he is recovering but the medical bills are piling up. So now the Hampton Roads brewing community is rallying around one of their own.
A main focus of Wasserhund is to impact the community, and that was the cause since the brewery’s inception. Wasserhund picks out a charity once a month and then a portion of that month’s proceeds go to that charity.
On Saturday, October 8 “A Benefit for the Brew Master” event will take place at the facility on Laskin Road. There will be live music from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m., and donations will be collected all day and night by cash or credit. There will also be face painting, food trucks and tons of activities for the kids.
Many businesses and restaurants around Hampton Roads have donated gift cards and merchandise that will be part a raffle. Breweries like O’Connor, Reaver Beach, Pleasure House and Oozlefitch have donated 100% of their proceeds to the cause.
If you are unable to attend the event and want to help, please check out their GoFundMe page.
