Hampton Roads Veterans Day Deals and Freebies

Veterans Day is the day we all honor those who served our country and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Businesses and restaurants around the area are showing their respect by offering freebies and deals to active duty, retired military and veterans.

Many require you to bring your military ID or proof of service.

Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar — Free meal from special menu

Bob Evans: Veterans and active duty military personnel have a fresh, hearty free Veterans Day meal coming their way, thanks to Bob Evans Restaurants.

Boston Market: All active duty or retired military personnel and their families can receive one free brownie or cookie with any purchase.

Buffalo Wild Wings: Veterans and active duty military personnel receive one small order of wings and a side of fries for free all day.

California Pizza Kitchen: Veterans and active military receive a free entree from a special menu.

Chili’s: Veterans and active military service members get a free meal from a limited menu.

Chipotle:  Buy one item, get one free on entrée items of burritos, bowls, salads and taco orders from 3 p.m. to close on Nov.11.

Denny’s: Active, inactive and retired military personnel get a free Build Your Own Grand Slam.

Golden Corral: Free meal on Nov. 14 from 5 to 9 p.m.

Gordon Biersch: Veterans and active military personnel receive a free appetizer.

Hooters: All veterans can enjoy a free entree from the Hooters Veterans Day Menu by presenting a military ID or proof of service at any Hooters location nationwide.

IHOP: Veterans and active duty military receive free Red, White and Blue pancakes from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Krispy Kreme: All veterans get a free doughnut and small coffee.

McDonald’s: Get a FREE McMuffin or Biscuit Sandwich for retired and active duty military in honor of Veteran’s Day.

Outback Steakhouse: All active and retired military members receive a free Bloomin’ Onion and a beverage by showing a valid military ID.

Olive Garden: Offering a free entree from a limited menu all day.

Red Lobster: Free app or dessert with proof of service.

Red Robin: Free Tavern Double burger with Bottomless Steak Fries for all veterans and active duty military.

Ruby Tuesday: Veterans, active duty and reserve service members get a free appetizer on November 11.

Shoney’sFree All-American Burger for veterans and active duty military with proof of military service.

Sheetz: Veterans and active duty military personnel get a free 6 inch turkey sub, regular size fountain drink and a carwash at all Sheetz locations.

Texas Roadhouse: Offering free lunch to veterans and active duty military. There are 10 entrees to choose from, and it includes a non-alcoholic drink.

TGIFridays: Free lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for veterans and active duty military.

Whole Foods Hampton Roads: Free 12 oz. coffee and pastry until Noon! While supplies last. Must show ID or proof of service.

Businesses, Services and Museums

Autobell Car Wash: A free ride-thru exterior wash for active military and veterans.

Bed Bath and Beyond: Veterans, active duty, Reserves, Guard and spouses get 25% off their entire purchase.

Brooks Brothers: Active duty military and veterans get 25% off in-store purchases.

Children’s Museum: Buy one Child’s Admission get one Free Adult Admission (with Military ID). Must print and present coupon.

Colonial Williamsburg: Military families can receive a free Colonial Williamsburg admission ticket, Friday, November 11 through Monday, November 14 during their Honoring Service to America weekend.

Dollar General: Active duty service members, veterans and their families get an 11% discount on qualifying purchases.

Great Clips: Customers who come in for a service can get a free haircut card to give to their favorite veteran. Veterans can also receive a free haircut or get the free haircut card. Haircuts are redeemable until Dec. 31.

Hampton History Museum: Free admission to active duty, retired military, veterans, NASA employees and their families with ID

Mariner’s Museum: Free admission to Active Duty and Retired Military, Veterans, and their families. Free admission is offered to all military and up to four of their immediate family members on Friday, November 11 with valid military ID.

Meineke: All veterans and active duty will receive a FREE Basic Oil Change at participating Meineke locations. Valid Military ID required.

Nauticus: Free admission to all veterans.

Sports Clips: Many Sport Clips locations will offer free haircuts to active duty U.S. service members and veterans.

Uber: Uber Virginia is offering 50% off  rides to and from military bases in Hampton Roads. To get the discount, enter the code VETSDAYHRVA16 in the Uber app.

The discount applies to several area bases, including: Langley AFB, Fort Eustis, Camp Allen, NWS Yorktown, NAS Oceana, Naval Station Norfolk, Dam Neck, Fort Story, Craney Island Coast Guard, Little Creek, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Naval Hospital Portsmouth
