Hampton Roads Columbus Day Closings


Columbus Day is right around the corner, Monday, October 10. Some city offices and libraries will be closed, for some its business as usual.

Chesapeake

All City of Chesapeake offices, courts, and libraries will be closed. There will be no changes to trash or recycling collection schedules.

Community Centers will only be open from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Hampton

Everything running as usual.

Newport News

Everything running as usual.

Norfolk

All courts will be closed with operations resuming at regular business hours on Tuesday, October 11

All other City of Norfolk government offices, including City Hall and all libraries, will be open for business as usual that day.

Portsmouth

All offices of the City of Portsmouth, including Portsmouth Public Library and all city recreation centers, will be closed. There will be no garbage, recycling, or bulk collections. Monday routes will be collected on Wednesday, October 12.

Suffolk

Suffolk City offices will be closed with normal operations resuming Tuesday, October 11. All Suffolk City Libraries will be closed as well as the Suffolk Art Gallery.

Suffolk Parks & Recreation recreation facilities will be open for before and after School programming only on Monday, October 10. The East Suffolk Recreation Center and Whaleyville Community Center will be closed.

The Suffolk Parks & Recreation Administration Office will be closed.

Suffolk Public Works Department will pick up trash as scheduled next week. Recycling will also conduct their normal recycling collection routes.

Virginia Beach

Everything running as usual except that all courts will be closed with operations resuming at regular business hours on Tuesday, October 11

Williamsburg

Everything running as usual.

The Williamsburg Regional Library will open at Noon.
