Football season is off and running! Well the preseason is at least. Are you, or do you know a fantasy football nut? The Virginia Sports Hall of Fame is hosting an event that could help any players for the upcoming season.
The Pro Football Fantasy Fest will be a night where fantasy players can mingle and share advice with each other and former NFL players.
Appearances for Q & A’s will be made by Chesapeake native & NFL Hall of Famer Kenny Easley, Chesapeake native & former NFL all-pro William Fuller and WAVY-TV’s Andy Fox; I’m told Andy has won a fantasy title or two.
This event will be the first of many interactive and topical sports events to be produced by the VSHF, which is changing from a museum to a programming model.
“Fantasy Fest is the first of many events the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame will stage as we evolve into a sustainable organization honoring athletes, coaches and other contributors to the games we love as well as engaging fans of amateur and professional sports in topical and lively programs,” says Virginia Sports Hall of Fame Chairman Joel Rubin. “There will not be any drafting that night. Rather it will be a fun opportunity for players to share their passion and increase their chances of having a successful team.”
Fantasy Football Fest will take place Thursday, August 24, 6 p.m., at the Virginia Beach Westin Hotel and admission is $25. The fee will include a taco bar and there will also be a cash bar on hand.
