What Sports Dads Really Want For Father’s Day

The big day is almost here and let the scrambling begin! Another Father’s Day and another big question mark on what to get the dad in your life. So what are going to get the “World’s Best dad” for Father’s Day?

Let’s start by eliminating the obvious. Please no ties or socks or goofy t-shirts. Nothing with initials and stay away from candy or flowers. These items just don’t work well for men.

Find what interests your father and add to his pleasure. If he’s a sports fan, go right to his sport of interest. Does you dad like to play golf? Pick up something at a close by pro shop and let him watch the final round of the U.S. Open. Watch it with him for added family bonding.

Does you dad like baseball, soccer, football or basketball? The professional and college sports world is full of gift ideas for dads.

If your dad likes to hunt or fish then there are a million different things you can get him in that category.

Is your dad a surfer? Pick him up the latest issue of Surfer’s Journal and some wax. Get him a new leash for his board. Done!

Get your dad hooked on Netflix, Apple TV, Roku or get him a gift card at your local movie theater.

Most dads like beer. Need I say more? Get him something new to try or maybe a fancy glass to enjoy a cold beverage. While you are at the store, pick up some really nice steaks. Dads love to cook steaks on the grill. And since your dad will be at the grill, drinking a cold beer and grilling meat, get him a new grill cover or brush.

These are just a few ideas for your dad. But what dads really want for Father’s Day is some peace and quiet. Tell him how much you love him and why he special to you. Once you’ve done that, turn on the U.S. Open and the rest is downhill.
