Weekend Fun “On The Run!”

The Latest Running News and Notes in the “757” from Sportswrap Running Reporter,  Jon “Flex” Leiding.

Hey Hampton Roads Runners!  Back by popular demand: the return of  the running wrap video!  You spoke and we listened.   No, I’m not playing a musical request. You guys love our video shout outs so much that  we decided to give you more of what you asked for.  Like they used to say in the old days, now in “Amazing Technicolor!” This report is also fat-free and safe for the environment.  Sarcastic Humor is  just one of the many things we provide here “On The Run!” Check it out!

I am out of breath after talking about all of those races!    Now that the weekend is almost upon us, there are many great races to chat about.  First in Portsmouth, the Boo Yah 5K gets scary with a Halloween flavor . The Track to Trail 5K is in Virginia Beach and then from Here to Eternity returns Saturday.  No, this is not the old movie! It is a late afternoon 5K in the Elmwood & Westwood Cemeteries in Norfolk.   Their catchy phrase for this race is “Run Like a Victorian!”  No word if you should fear the “walking dead!” Spooky!

On a more serious note, The Prostate Health 5K gets going at the Hampton University Campus.  This is a good run to raise awareness of the second leading killer of adult males.  Race and maybe learn some valuable info all in one place.

Sunday, the Run/ Walk for the Animals 5K hits the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.  this race invites to to bring your dog if you want to take “Man’s best friend” On The Run!   A little further up the road in the District of Columbia, also known as D.C., The Marine Corps Marathon takes off. It is the sixth largest marathon in the USA.  I’ll be doing that Sunday morning.  Think of me and raise a coffee cup around 7:30am if you’re sleeping in.   If you are running any of these races, good luck to you all maybe I’ll see you soon… On the Run!

Please feel free to leave us feedback.  You know we crave it and if you leave a nice comment your name might be in next week’s “Shout Outs”.  Keep doing what you do and I’ll keep getting excited and share your story with everyone.
