Va. Beach, Chesapeake Featured on New Monopoly Board

The game makers of Monopoly put two local cities on the board of their new U.S. edition.

The makers held a contest letting fans vote for the city they wanted to see make it into the game. After people cast more than four million votes, the results are in. Virginia Beach will have a green space between New York and Los Angeles. Chesapeake will be among the cities in Brown.

Residents may contest that Virginia Beach is the most appropriate contender as it’s already home to an Atlantic Avenue, Pacific Avenue and a Boardwalk.

Fans of Pierre, South Dakota secured the most wins to replace the Boardwalk spot.

The game is called MONOPOLY HERE & NOW: U.S. EDITION and will be available to purchase this fall.
