There will be calf roping, bucking horses, barrel racing, bull riding, and the Rodeo Clowns. There will be a special area for the children to play along with plenty of food and your favorite beverage.

Friday – Sunday | 2017 Harborfest | Town Point Park
For three memorable days, the historic waterfront festival offers a weekend packed with thrilling activities on land and sea to include tall ships and the Parade of Sail, artisan foods and beverages, work boat races, unique and unusual performances, one of the largest fireworks shows on the East Coast, family games and activities, national and regional entertainment, and much more.

For two nights only, four directors and 12 performers from the local Hampton Roads Area will stand together to remember the lives of those that were lost, and raise money for the forces that seek to educate, remember, and celebrate our vibrant and diverse community.

Friday & Saturday | Seawall Music Festival | Olde Towne Waterfront
Since 1977, a family festival featuring free waterfront concerts and family festivities. Come out and enjoy free entertainment from local and regional acts.

Friday – Sunday | North American Sand Soccer Championships | Virginia Beach Oceanfront
This “World Cup” equivalent of international amateur beach soccer events. The Championships are staged over 25 full City blocks of prime oceanfront real estate, on over mile and a half of white sand – against a backdrop of diving gulls, banners waving in stiff ocean breezes, thousands of Boardwalk bedazzled spectators, live music and great food.

An exciting competition with lots of prizes. Skateboarders compete on June 10, BMXers on June 11. Registration and warm-ups begin at 10 a.m. on both days. Amateur, intermediate and pro levels.

6 a.m. | Life’s A Beach Triathlon | Buckroe Beach and Park
The 2-mile beach run is laid back and includes some of the Life’s A Beach challenges — obstacles to break up the run in a fun way. Every registrant will receive a Life’s a Beach Triathlon shirt, temporary tattoo, themed finisher’s award, and a post-race drink and snack. In addition to this year’s triathlon, there will also be a free Hatchling Dash Kids Run.

10 a.m. | 4th Annual Pre-Father’s Day Picnic | Hampton YMCA
The event will will focus on strengthening the importance of father’s or role models in the home. There will be a resource fair to include employment opportunities. Food & beverages will be served.

The program of Remembrance will include educational presentations by Dr. Arthur Carter, and Blue; traditional African drumming, dance; tributes dedicated to Native Americans/First Nations people, Bay Shore Beach and those Freedom Fighters who lost their lives in pursuit of justice; theatrical presentations, poetry, meditation, song and traditional African and African-American spirituals.
