This weekend is a celebration of all things Mom! There’s a weekend full of fun events that you can get her out of the house and show your love and appreciation.

This weekend the Waterside District will open their doors for good. You can find the full schedule of events and all the information you need here.

Friday – Sunday | Arboria | Town Point Park
Arboria luminarium by Architects of Air, an unprecedented, walk-through art experience. The massive “luminarium” is an immersive labyrinth in which visitors encounter a phenomenon of light, shapes and color.

Friday – Sunday| 4 Wheel Parts Monsters on the Beach presented by Pungo Off Road | 6th Street on the Beach
This wildly-popular event brings thrills and chills to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront as monster trucks battle for ultimate sand domination! This family-targeted event is loud, fast, and exciting. A course is built right on the beach at 6th Street, with bleachers overlooking from the boardwalk.

The Virginia International PAN Fest is a musical adventure set to the soothing sounds of steel pan music. The festival’s casual atmosphere appeals to the island community and people of all ages who are intrigued by the unique sounds and style of steel drum music.

10 a.m. | WWI: A Soldier’s Life Family Event | Hampton History Museum
Learn about life during the “Great War” with living history reenactors. See and handle reproduction military equipment of the time and try your hand at some soldiering skills. Participate in gas mask drills and learn how soldiers would protect themselves from chemical weapons. Pose for a picture and learn about the importance of photography for the soldiers on their way to Europe and their families back at home. Enjoy hands-on activities and help create a model of the trenches that were home to many soldiers during the war.

The time has come to release a new batch of our beloved Tidewater Gose by the name of Mermaid’s Scorn. However, this is no normal beer release. It is a full fledged throw down. We will also have Redwood Smoke Shack slinging ‘que and Capt’n Crabby shucking oysters to pair with the Gose. To top it off, we will be serving oyster shooters with Mermaid’s Scorn, a custom hot sauce, and of course the oyster! We will also have live music by Brian Schultz.
