NPL Summer Reading Program

Introducing the Norfolk Public Library’s NEW Summer Reading Program! They’re taking summer reading to new places and everyone from kids to adults has a ticket for fun. No more logging minutes or writing book reviews, just head on over to a library location between June 23 – August 4 to enter the program.

Youth, Toddlers and Babies:

With so many exciting things to do this summer, they’re encouraging you to both read and get out and play! Kids can earn prizes this summer by picking up a Summer Reading Program game board at any library location and playing along. Turn in your first completed game board for a prize, show your half-completed game board for a “layover” prize. Every completed game board is an entry into the Grand Prize Drawing. You’ll get to wiggle like a worm, draw a treehouse, read and more!

Teens can get a passport to fun – literally! Pick up a Summer Reading Program teen passport at any library location and complete the activities within to win. Turn in the completed passport at any branch; first passport earns a prize and every completed passport is an entry into the Grand Prize Drawing! Show your half-completed passport for a “layover” prize. Stamp your passport for activities like complimenting someone, visiting the beach, jumping to the beat and, of course, reading.

Reading takes adults everywhere, too! No need to write book reviews or tally minutes. Every time you check out items at the library this summer, you can fill out a boarding pass with your contact information and number of items checked out. That’s it! Whichever library location you use, every boarding pass is an entry into that branch’s weekly drawing for fantastic prizes. At the end of the program, a Grand Prize winner will be drawn from all entries.
