Local Group Rides to Raise Childhood Cancer Awareness

Six cyclists got together to raise awareness for Roc the Ride, a Roc Solid Foundation Campaign. The event took place at Lululemon Athletics in Virginia Beach.

Roc the Ride is a two-day, 100+ mile cycling trip that happens during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The ride goes from Richmond Children’s Hospital to CHKD in Norfolk.

Two of the six cyclists participating in Roc the Ride are cancer survivors themselves, and two more have dealt with pediatric cancer in their families. Each cyclist is riding in honor of a local Roc Solid child and family.

Roc Solid Foundation was founded in 2009 by pediatric cancer survivor, Eric Newman. With the goal to build hope for children and families facing pediatric cancer.

The charity ride will take place September 8 and 9.
