Pirates have a history for stealing and looting from ships and towns. But some local pirate reenactors are hoping to break that notorious label. On “International Talk Like A Pirate Day” they will be raiding a local tavern, but for a good cause.
The group, Moody Crewe, is taking over Bucketheads Beach Grill to raise awareness during “Hunger Action Month.” The event will include pirate-themed fun, games, music, a costume contest and prizes. The crew is asking everyone to bring canned-goods for the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia.
Moody Crewe is a living history group of “pirates for hire” based here in Hampton Roads.
“Talk like a Pirate Day” Party and food drive is Monday, September 19.
