Taylor Made Diagnostics, Incorporated and Técnico Corporation are both recognized by the Chesapeake Economic Development Department as 2015 Businesses of the Year.
Taylor Made Diagnostics Inc., operates an occupational health clinic and mobile medical teams which have provided services to more than 1,700 federal, state and local employers. The business has headquarters in Chesapeake’s South Norfolk area, and Taylor Made has grown to 18 employees. Taylor Made also supports many charities such as the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, HER Women’s Shelter, South Norfolk’s National Night Out Sponsor and the South Norfolk Angel Tree.
Técnico Corporation is the Chesapeake Port Authority’s 2015 Waterfront Business of the Year. Técnico Corporation, a navy ship repair and modernization contractor is also headquartered in Chesapeake’s South Norfolk area. Técnico has grown from 30 employees in 1990 to nearly 500 today.
Técnico supports nearly 30 national and local charitable organizations. Locally, Técnico provides services to the Southside Boys and Girls Club. Employees also participate annually in fundraising events for the American Diabetes Association Tour de Cure, Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk.
Representatives from both Taylor Made Diagnostics and Técnico Corporation will be formally recognized in the Chesapeake City Council Chambers on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 6:30 p.m.
