Dig Out Your Boombox for the 5th Annual Unsilent Night

If you’ve ever wanted to channel your inner John Cusack in “Say Something,” now is the time.

The 5th annual Unsilent Night is returning to Downtown Norfolk on Wednesday, Dec. 5 at 5:30 p.m.

It’s an outdoor, boombox parade hosted by Virginia Arts Festival and Downtown Norfolk to bring together music, art and people during the holiday season. The event is held in cities across the U.S.

Download one of the tracks featuring Phil Kline’s “Unsilent Night,” bring your music device (which probably looks more like a smartphone than a boombox) and show up at MacArthur Square by the Christmas tree between 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Join the crowd as they walk through Downtown Norfolk and the Freemason neighborhood, adorned with boomboxes and speakers playing the track for all to hear.

The parade will end at Selden Market, where you will find hot drinks from Vessel Craft Coffee and delicious treats from S’MORES AMORE.

Make sure you dress warm! It’s going to be a cold one.
