Before their return to school next week, Eastern Virginia Medical School Students Saturday participated in Community Impact Day to help elementary school students prepare for the upcoming school year.
EVMS students traveled to P.B. Young Sr. Elementary School and performed helpful tasks such as cleaning, decorating and preparing school supplies for young students.
Community Impact Day is a collaboration of Norfolk Public Schools, the United Way of South Hampton Roads and EVMS. It is and outgrowth of the larger United for Children effort, which has brought together public and private agencies with the goal of breaking the cycle of poverty in Norfolk’s Young Terrace neighborhood.
