The Norfolk the Norfolk Federal Bureau of Investigation teamed up with the Chrysler Museum of Art to host “Nothing Sketchy.” The free training seminar educated residents on the FBI’s history and their day to day responsibilities on a local level.
Since the seminar was at the museum, keynote speaker Special Agent Geoffrey Kelly discussed his career investigating violent crime and art theft.
Through this workshop, the Bureau hope more members of the residents walk away with a better understanding of how they serve the community.
“A lot of people in the community feels that we’re hidden and we’re sort of a mysterious organization. So we’re here to let them know what we really look like, what we do, and what we don’t do. A lot of people only know the FBI from what they see on television. So we want to let them know what we do locally and what are priorities are in Hampton Roads,” said Vanessa Torres, Community Outreach Specialist of FBI Norfolk.
