Free Tdap Immunizations Available for Va. Beach 6th Graders

The Virginia Beach Department of Public Health and Virginia Beach Public Schools are teaming up to offer the required Tdap vaccine for free.

Free Tdap shots will be available from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Aug. 15 and Saturday, Aug. 29, at the VBDPH office, located at 4452 Corporation Lane, in Va. Beach.

In order to receive the Tdap immunization, the child’s current immunization record and a photo ID for the parent/guardian are required. If the child receiving the vaccine has medical coverage, parents/guardians are asked to bring the insurance card.

The Tdap vaccine protects children from three serious diseases: tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis (often called whooping cough). Tdap shots are also available through the Health Department Immunization Clinic. For more information, including clinic days and times, call 757.518.2700.
