It’s marathon time! Newport News Shipbuilding’s fourth annual One City Marathon will take place on Sunday, March 4.
Its route crosses from Fort Eustis to CNU to Huntington Avenue, spanning every different vista of Newport News, and coming to a total of 26.2 miles which is the certified minimum for a Boston qualifier race.
But you don’t have to be an athlete to take part in One City Marathon Weekend. There’s something for everyone.
Stop by for some interactive games, free health information, and training evaluations. You’ll also find more than 30 health, nutrition and apparel vendors at the Expo.
Saturday | 12 p.m. – 3 p.m. | Brooks Crossing
Kids are expensive. Bring them to do free things and let them run around with other people’s kids at Brooks Crossing, located at 3100 Jefferson Ave.
Saturday | 6:00 p.m. | Boathouse Live
Maybe you’re not a marathon runner, but you can still eat like one. Recoup from the day’s adventures with the One City Marathon Pasta Dinner at the brand-new Boathouse Live venue in City Center. Tickets are available online for $17.50.
There are options for everyone, whether you’re a die-hard athlete, a runner who loves history tours, or just someone who lost an office bet and wants to run with friends. Registration is open until Feb. 27.
