Girl Scout Luncheon Honors “Famous Formers”

Eight local women received special recognition for being role models for girls and women everywhere. It was part of the “Girl Scout Famous Formers Luncheon” held in Norfolk Thursday.

Included in the honors:

  • Stephanie Adams – Dean of ODU’s College of Engineering and Technology
  • Kim Curtis – President and CEO of Tidewater Home Funding
  • Michelle Ferebee – Computer engineer at NASA Langley Research Center
  • Daun Sessoms Hester – City of Norfolk Treasurer
  • Vickie Kearn – Executive Editor of Math and Computer Sciences at Princeton University Press
  • CAPT Lisa Schulz – Director of Operational Logistics with the U.S. Coast Guard
  • Charity Volman – South Hampton Roads President for SunTrust Bank
  • Sarah Buck – Public Affairs Manager for Cox Communications

Congratulations to these women for all they do to inspire girl scouts, and all of us.

This year’s keynote speaker was Susan Jacobs, the Vice President of Human Resources and Administration for Newport News Shipbuilding. And the Mistress of Ceremonies was Barbara Hamm Lee, a girl scout alumna and the owner of Sharing Info, LLC.
