Chesapeake Parks, Recreation & Tourism presents the Movies & More Series. This month’s movie is “National Treasure”. Other activities prior to the movie include:  a dance party, inflatables, face-painting, and food vendors. FREE

5:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m./Fridays at the Fountain/City Center at Oyster Point
Begin your weekend here. Join us for the City Center Friday Concerts by the best bands in the region. Bring your friends, lawn chairs, blankets, and dancing shoes. Free Parking. Food ($) and beverage ($). Featured tonight are Fuzz Band with Black, White & Blues! FREE

5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m./GSA Jazz Band Performs at MacArthur Center
The Governor’s School for the Arts Jazz Band will be performing in the Center every Friday from 5-7pm beginning April 24th and continuing through August 28th. FREE

Portsmouth

5:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m./Concert in the Courtyard: Sharkophagus/Portsmouth Art and Cultural Center
Sharkophagus is a quirky kind of jam band a la Dave Matthews doing some covers, with original stuff, too. Jamie, from Gosport Tavern, is the guitarist. Bring friends and family to this springtime event, offering free admission to museum exhibits, light refreshments. FREE

8:45 p.m./Dinner & a Drive-in Movie Event: American Graffiti/Portside Park
A gathering of classic cars will rendezvous at the Portside Park for a Drive-In style movie, and enjoy the George Lucas classic film “American Graffiti.” So bring your blankets and lawn chairs and make it a classic Olde Towne summer night! Movie starts at 9:30 pm at the Portside Park next to Tidewater Yacht & Crawford Parkway.

Virginia Beach
