The city of Hampton is about to get very bicyclist-friendly. City officials, along with developers Rhodeside & Harwell, are putting together the city’s first bicycle and pedestrian plan.
The plan will focus on making it easier to bike and walk in the city’s seven areas; Buckroe, Coliseum Central, Downtown, Fort Monroe, Kecoughtan, North King Street, and Phoebus.

Recommendations for the plan include developing a public safety and awareness campaign as well as more than 30 miles of on and off-street improvements.
City officials want to hear from you about making improvements to the plan. Public hearings are scheduled for November 3 at 3:30 p.m. and December 14 at 6:30 p.m.
