There’s a new resident at Norfolk’s Nauticus!
For the first time in over ten years, a new brownbanded bamboo shark pup has been born at Nauticus.
Brownbanded bamboo sharks reproduce oviparously, meaning the eggs are deposited in small rounded cases on the sea floor. Sharks rarely reproduce in captivity, so our new shark is a big deal!
Nauticus hosts a wide range of sea creatures, including epaulette and bamboo sharks, horseshoe crabs and a variety of fish species.
You can see the new baby shark Tuesday – Saturday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday, Noon – 5 p.m.
